A Prayer for Foster Children: Strength from the Bible
At Potter Children’s Home, we are continually reminded that the journey of each child is unique, and often, their path includes overcoming great struggles. We look to the Bible for inspiration, finding stories of individuals who faced adversity yet were called by God for a greater purpose. The stories of Moses, Esther, and others give us hope that even in the most difficult circumstances, God’s plan is at work.
Moses, raised by someone outside of his biological family, was chosen by God to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. Esther, an orphan, became a queen and played a critical role in saving her people. Their stories are powerful reminders that being raised by others or experiencing hardship doesn’t mean a child’s life lacks purpose or meaning. At Potter Children’s Home, we believe that each foster child, like Moses or Esther, is filled with potential and that their story is far from over.
Prayer for Foster Children
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today lifting up the children in foster care. We know that each child’s story matters to You, and that no child is ever beyond Your love and care.
Just as You raised up Moses, a child who was separated from his family yet chosen for a greater purpose, we pray that these children may see the hope and potential You have for them.
Just as Esther was placed in a position of influence and strength despite her circumstances, we ask that You help these children find strength in You, knowing that You have a plan for their future.
Lord, may Your peace surround them, and may Your love fill their hearts. We ask that You bring healing to their lives and guide all those who care for them.
We also lift up the staff, families, and caregivers at Potter Children’s Home—give them the wisdom, compassion, and patience they need to support these children on their journey.
We ask all of this in Your name, Amen.
