Community Engagement

While Potter Children’s Home and Family Ministries’ primary mission is in our residential programs, we also seek to use our talents and resources to be a light to the community.

Light of the World

Our staff is active in several community organizations that serve children and families in need, such as a local network of non-profit agencies, the Coalition to Prevent Child Abuse and the Community Collaboration for Children. In addition, we are active in helping to organize an annual Special Needs Expo for area families.

Support For Families

We have partnered with area agencies to lead support groups for parents of children who have experienced abuse, provide trainings in working with difficult behaviors and understanding the impact of trauma in families, and conduct poverty simulations. Our staff is always looking for additional opportunities to support families in need, so if you have a need please contact Chris Hagan at [email protected].

Check our facebook page or our events calendar for open dates and times.

Tuesday’s Treasure

Our resale shop is an on-campus service and part of our gymnasium space that is open on most Tuesdays. While it helps our programs financially, our low prices mean we can offer quality goods for families in the community who live on strict budgets. Tuesday’s Treasures strives to make sure both our residents and those in the community don’t have to go without because of a simple dollar sign.

Support Potter Children’s Home

There are many ways that you can support the work of Potter. Aside from financial gifts we rely on volunteers in the resale shop, donations of clothing and furniture, babysitters for our weekly groups, and donation of services, just to name a few. Contact us if you want to discuss ways you can be involved in our ministry.

Donate to Potter Children’s Home

We are only able to provide these services at no cost because of your generous donations. We have many options for giving, including one-time Gifts of Love, Honor/Memorial gifts, and monthly donations. To learn more, go to our donation page.
